Mage

Jeremy and the inner demon arrive in an orchard nearby the next child in a different plain of reality. There arrival brings a great bright red light causing all of the trees to whither and die within the radius of the light.
"We are here my child, the young girl Mandy lives just beyond this orchard in a small cottage, she is our mage her inner-self must be awakened soon." the voice says with a hint of concern.
"Why do you sound concerned, we will not fail, she will join us and her mother will know nothing of us." he responds with more confidence.
"It is not the mother that worries me, the people here are simple and superstitious, one wrong move here and they’ll burn her alive and besides the spectacle we made coming here will have already thrown suspicion their way."
"Sorry what do you want to do?"
"Well wait and let things calm down a bit, maybe a day or two.

Three days later

Arguing and harsh words are what wake Mandy from her innocent dreams.
"Listen we know nothing of what happened to our orchard nor did we cause it", with a bit of anger, "I’m just scared for my daughter." Meredith tries to explain. After a few choice words she slams the door shut without letting them finish.
"Mommy what’s wrong, why were you talking so mean to the people? Mandy asks yawning and rubbing her left eyes.
"You don’t need to worry about that sweetie it was grown up talk that’s all." She tells her daughter.
"Mommy you were scared when those people were talking to you," she then paused and continued, "were they being mean to you cause if they were-"
"No sweetie they weren’t, remember when we saw that strange red light the other evening?"
"Yep I sure do."
"They wanted to know about that." Meredith explains to her daughter.
"Hey mommy I had a real cool dream about that last night." Mandy happily tells her mother.
"Oh really what was it." She says as she pulls her daughter onto her lap.
"Well, I was playing orchard when I saw the same light, then a bo-"
RING! RING! RING! The phone interrupts her daughter.
"I’m sorry honey." She picks up the phone, "Hello, what is it Scott?" not sounding too pleased, "yes they came but they already left." Just realizing that her daughter is gone she hangs up the phone on Scott and begins to look for Mandy. She first looks in her daughters room only to find nothing. A bit more frantic, she begins to search faster; Meredith then steps outside too sees her daughter running toward the orchard.

"A ha, ha, no way I’m gonna beat you cause I’m faster." she says to nothing with glee in her voice.
"Hey, I don’t want you going into the orchard just yet okay." She says to Mandy a bit sternly.
"But mom." Sounding aggravated
"But nothing, I don’t want you going in there until we find out what that light was."
Stopping dead in her tracks she quickly turns back and snaps back at her mom, "Mom you don’t understand I need to get there before anyone else does!"
"Hey!" she snaps back sharply, "You don’t talk to me like that I’m your mother do you hear me."
"I’m sorry mommy I wont talk like that to you again." She apologetically says with her head down

Mandy then turns and goes to the tree in front of the house were her mother had set a swing for her a few months back. She climbs on and starts to swing. A few minutes pass before she begins to speak out loud.
"What, I’m sorry but my mommy didn’t let me go out there."
"I know just don’t worry about it, we can still play other games." Jeremy tells her.
"Well what about the thing that I’m supposed to find?" she asks.
"Its okay Ill hide it somewhere just for you." Jeremy says back to her gently.
"Cool thanks," She pauses to think something over, "can you push me please
"Sure I can."
Then out of no were a light visage of Jeremy appears and begins to push Mandy lightly on the swing.
"What do you want to play after we finish swinging?" Mandy asks
"How about we play mage and the follower?" Jeremy says calmly
"I’ve never heard of that game before, how do we play?" she asks curiously.
"Well I’m the mage and you are my best friend and follower, you help me beat the bad guy and evil monsters when I’m in trouble and you also learn the ways of being a strong mage."
With excitement in her eyes she joyfully says, "Really can we play every day?"
"Of course, that’s why I’m here so we can have fun."
"Mandy! Mandy sweetie dinners ready come inside and eat."
Looking toward her new fiend she gives him a confused look as what to do. Jeremy leans in and whispers to her left ear.
"Go to your mother, we can play tomorrow okay."
"Okay Ill see you tomorrow, bye."
"Bye." He responds
she stops to turn and wave but sees him nowhere.

The next morning

"Jeremy, hello, were are you." She call out for him, unable to find him Mandy shrugs her shoulders and turns to go inside to find him standing behind her.
"Hey." Jeremy says to her the second she turns.
"AAH! You scared me, can we play now?"
"Today we prepare for our adventure so remember this: sumatrian. This spell will let you push anyone anything away from you, no matter how many there is. Imitri Ackt this one will let you control any object with your mind and you don’t have too say it out loud. Soliom Shyde that one will give you an invisible shield to protect you. The next one is very powerful so be careful how you use it, Trunis Amand this will let you control and create the element of fire. Practice then, write them down do what you need to do, just never forget them okay."
"Thanks Jeremy I promise I wont forget them bye." She then turns and runs toward her house.
"Good work my boy the more she practices the more she becomes with us, now rest child I need to influence change in others to quicken our plan." The thing inside Jeremy says.
While eating and helping her mother afterward all she could do was think of the spells that were given to her. Over and over and over again she repeated the spells and what they do until she fell asleep.

Over the entire winter she went on her adventures with Jeremy practicing her magical arts. While they were off, the thing inside Jeremy would simulate different places and situations like battling, dragons, trolls, giants, other witches and most important to him this one.
"Witch, witch!" Over here witch! Hurry she’s getting away!" a man loudly cries
"Hurry, they’re gaining on you." Jeremy tells her
"Why cant they see you?" Mandy asks with a bit of desperation.
"You need to do this one alone it is very important to your development."
She cuts left and quickly climbs up in a tree and gives him a confused look.
"The growth of your powers, to see how strong they will get."
"Oh okay."
"The tree, up here. The little witch is up here." another man shouts and points up at her.
"Aumaktrin." Mandy calls out loud sending the man flying past two trees out of the orchard.
Mandy then jumps out of the tree and begins to run again. The crowd of angry people spots her and come after her. Floating next to her Jeremy gives her advice on what to do next.
"You need to know everything around you." he tells her pointing at the trees. trying her hardest she puts some distance between her and the crowd turns and calls out imitri ackt, suddenly trees start to come out by the root and pile up blocking the angry crowd. Mandy turned to run again, but this time she was moving faster than ever and didn’t know why
"I never knew I could run this fast." she tells Jeremy.
"You’re learning to use the magic on your own and quickly, that’s very good, im very proud of you." he tells her with joy
She ran for the edge of the orchard hoping to escape the people once and for all, as she passed though end she was very surprised that she was not out but back in the town. This time the angry mob had her surrounded.
"What are you going to do now Mandy?" Jeremy asks her.
As thinking of what to do next the mob started to close in on her, at first she started to panic a bit then Jeremy gave her more advice.
"Remember what you've learned, remember"
The mob closes in closer and closer with cries of wanting to burn her, hang her, skin her and drown her alive. Then it came to her
"Soliom syd." she blurts out, then a beautiful soft purple glow came out of what looked like from her heart surrounded her and expanded out giving her a five foot space to keep them away from her. She then stuck out her arms and pointed to the ground.
"Trunis amand" she calls out while spinning around once. The people all looked at her scared and like she was insane, but not one second after she said that the ground was she pointed at burst to flames. All the people stared with amazement. Mandy then rose her arms up and the flames rose all around her. After seeing this all the people ran scared for their lives.
"Very good Mandy", Jeremy waved his arm and the illusion was over, they were back in the middle of the orchard by Mandy’s house." I’m very proud of you; you are now ready to become a full mage."
"Really, wow," she runs to him and gives him a hug, “I’m so happy, thank you thank you thank you," she says so happily. She the pulls away from him and asks "Why did we have to play that last one? Why did they try and hurt me?"
"We had to too see how good you do when certain things happen.
“certain things but they were people, why did I have to hurt people?
“Listen, all people will never accept those who are different because they are too afraid of how different we are. We are special, but they will never know that," Mandy gives him a very confused look Jeremy looks back at her with a warming smile, "I now its hard to understand but people different from us will never want to know just how special we are, they will only try to hurt us and make us go away because we not like them and they will never want to get to know us, and just by being who we are that scares them a too much."
"Very good Jeremy, her training is compete. Its almost time she will soon be one with us." says Jeremy’s inner demon
"How?" Asks Jeremy
"All will soon be reveled child."
The next day Mandy woke up feeling better then she had ever felt before. She felt smarter, stronger, faster, and more alive.
"Well good morning honey, how are you sweetie?" Meredith asks her daughter.
"I'm feeling great mommy." Mandy says with much enthusiasm.
"Well were did this great attitude come from?"
"I don’t know I just feel really good."
"Okay, lets have some breakfast."
"Yea, what are we having?"
"Whatever you want honey."
"I want some cereal."
"Okay ill get the cereal you get the milk."
"No mommy," she says quickly, "ill get the cereal, can you get the milk."
"Sure." says her mother.
She goes to the outside fridge to get to the milk. As she heads out the door, Mandy makes sure her mother is outside, she then mutters words to her, the cupboard opened up and the cereal floated to her. She was able to pour the cereal just in time before her mom came back in.
"Boy, you seem really happy to be eating cereal."
Mandy then gives a huge smile with her eyes closed and says "I’m just happy the festival is going to be here tomorrow", her face changes from happy to worried, "the people aren’t going to be afraid of us and looking at us strange are because of what happened in our orchard are they?"
"No sweetheart, everyone understands it wasn’t us who did it." She explains to her daughter.
After she finished she did her chores while her mother shopped, but with her new gifts she was doing then all at once, sweeping, dishes, dusting and cleaning her room. The day went by very quickly spending time with her mom.
"Today my child, she will become one of us today." Jeremy’s inner thing tells him.
"I’m so happy she will." He says while giving a wicked smile.
The next day came along with the town festival. The festival was considered a time were the whole town can have fun and not worry about anything or anyone; it was very special to everyone. The entire town was at the festival and they were loving it. There was a huge Ferris wheel, lots of games and wonderful food and plays.
Mandy was having the time of her life playing around with her friends and all the games the festival had. she played the dart game rode the Farris wheel ate all the sweets she could.
"Mandy baby its time to go." calls out Meredith to her daughter
"but mom." she wines
"its time to go baby I promise well come back tomorrow and stay longer okay."
"fine." she says with a bit of attitude
they start to walk through the carnival talking about the time they had when they got outside the carnival she turned to show her mom how she was playing the games when a horse carriage was coming too fast to stop.
"NOOOO!MANDYYY!" she screams out to her daughter.
Just as the carriage was about to hit Mandy the carriage flings over her on its back killing the driver and the two people riding inside. everyone who had seen was staring in awe at the accident and at Mandy.
More and more people came to see what happened and was learning it was Mandy that caused it. When her mother came to she grabbed Mandy tightly by the shoulders and shook yelling, "How did you that! TELL ME!!"
"Mommy stop it please your hurting me, please mommy."
"TAKE HER! TIE HER!" the towns people all yell.
"EVIL she is evil!" her mother yells out.
"NOO!" Mandy yells as the townspeople drags her to the outskirts of town in the orchard were the red light appeared.
They Mandy to place and tied her to a large wooden post. When she was put up, the towns people all put logs around covering them it with gasoline. Mandy was still in shock so all she could do was look at her mom like she was going to snap put of it and get her out of there. Meredith came forward to speak.
"She must not live, the evil need to be cleared it cannot happen again."
"Mommy no please I love you don’t do this please!" she cries out to her.
"LOOK! the evil speaks through my daughter," she looks at Mandy and walks to her," I’m sorry baby but this must be done." She hold a flaming piece of wood and tosses it in the pile. as the flames rose she began to cry. At the same time:
"Are we going help her?" Jeremy asks
"No need to interfere, her heart has changed. Can you not see it?"
"Yes, yes I can, the dark glow around her heart."
Just as the flames were about to reach her Mandy cried out, “NOOOO" the flames then circles around her and pushes out like a bubble and burns most of the people killing them but not all. the ones who lived were begging to die. Meredith was the only one not hurt by the flames. Mandy’s ropes came undone bythemselvs she then floated down in front of her mom. Meredith drops to her knee sand starts to cry.
"What have you done my baby, what have you done?"
She looked at Meredith in the eyes and said, "You are not my mother, she would never allowed this to happen." Meredith falls to her knees and picks up a wood piece behind her back. As Mandy turns to walk away her mother springs up and tries to hit her on the head but it stops just before it hits her. Mandy turns and just before her mother tries to hit her again a dozen red hot wood pieces impale her body but do not kill her. Mandy then looks at her with a dirty look and Meredith bursts into flames. Just before she dies she sees Jeremy materialize, takes Mandy by the hand and skips away dematerializing to the next plain.
